Lipica is a tiny settlement in the Municipality of Sežana, the Western Slovenia. It features a long-lasting tradition of Lipizzaner breeding. The Lipica Stud Farm was founded by the Habsburg Archduke Charles II in the Lipica village over 430 years ago and has flourished significantly ever since. This small village has become one of the most distinguished attractions of Slovenia. This place is the origin of the Lipizzaner horses, which is one of the world’s oldest cultural horse breeds. Travelers can visit amazing presentations held by the Lipica Classical Riding School, enjoy relaxing walks around the stud farm, take a guided tour to the unique Lipica estate, have a carriage ride through the picturesque and quiet atmosphere of Lipica’s groomed grounds, and experience a superior golf course provided by the International Golf Club Lipica.
