Slovenia hosts the biggest international congress on the issues concerning quality and excellence in Europe for the first time. The European Quality Organization (EOQ) has been holding the Congress since 1956. This year, the national quality organisations and the Slovenian Association for Quality and Excellence take part in the organisation of the EOQ Congress. Janez Benčina, the President of the Organising Committee, states, “This year’s congress puts Slovenia on the world map for quality.” He also adds that the business environment needs investment in quality. To his opinion, this will ensure quality of life for everyone and increase international competitiveness among individuals, companies, organisations and countries as well. During the Congress sessions, a number of special awards were presented to the most outstanding participants. Among them was Tatjana Mizori Zupan from the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. She was awarded for the successful upgrade of the e-Government portal.
