The first LoRaWAN network is set up in Slovenia. Solvera Lynx, a provider of energy industry solutions, has launched the first LoRaWAN-based Internet of Things (IOT) in Slovenia. This network has already been expanded to the major Slovenian cities and will soon cover the whole territory of the country. Representatives of the company mention that they used Ljubljana as a field for testing. Besides, for providing city-wide coverage, the company experts have already installed a number of in-house developed special devices in strategic points. LoRaWAN networks are particularly intended to provide for connection between thousands of internet-enabled devices, for example smart meters and sensors. This technology is considered to be the cornerstone of the future smart industries and smart cities. Solvera Lynx does not plan to limit its operation within the borders of one country. The company has a ready-to-use IoT technology that can be easily implemented on a European scale.
