LUXEMBOURG — According to the Eurostat data, the prices for Slovenian products and services did not exceed the EU average in 2016. The prices for clothes, soft drinks, food, and consumer electronic appliances almost coincided with the average price level around Europe, while prices for tobacco, alcohol and hospitality sector services turned to be cheaper. In general, the level of prices for products and services in Slovenia made 82% of the last year’s EU average. The price for tobacco products and alcoholic drinks was about 19% lower than in other EU countries. The services provided by restaurants and hotels on average were 18% cheaper as compared to their EU counterparts. The transport fees were 10% cheaper than the EU average in 2016. In terms of prices for consumer electronic appliances and clothing, Slovenia shared the same level with Italy, Croatia, and Austria.
