Figures for the year 2016 provided by the Slovenia’s Statistical Office demonstrate a stable recovery of the property market in Slovenia. The price for housing around Slovenia grew slightly by 0.45% from the beginning of the year to the second quarter of 2016, which makes 0.69% in real terms. In the capital of Slovenia, the price index for already built apartments increased by 4.23% on a year-on-year basis, while in the rest of the Slovenian territory, it rose lightly by 0.66% under the same conditions. Since 2016, the demand for housing in Slovenia has surged. By the middle of 2016, the number of all property transactions jumped by 24.3% reaching 2,789 units as compared to the same period in 2015. In the newbuild market, the number of deals increased by 22.8%, while the transactions made with existing dwelling rose by 21.8%.
