In January 2017, Chef Ana Ros from the Hisa Franko restaurant located in Kobarid received the World’s Best Female Chef title, shining the spotlight on the absolutely unique cuisine of her region. Since then, Slovenia has become one of the most amazing food destinations in Europe. “If a nation needs its own language and culture, it for sure needs its own cuisine, one that expresses its character and way of living,” says another chef Matej Tomazic who runs the Majerija Inn with one of the most popular restaurants in Slovenia.
