The official population of Alpine resort Kranjska Gora in Slovenia has double due to the pandemic with over 2,000 registered temporary residence. Accommodation capacities are full and there are people who are not locals. Furthermore, accommodation typically reserved for tourists is being leased out to businesses.

Kranjska Gora has near perfect snow conditions and a meter of snow at the moment. Even though the ski lifts are shut down, social media posts show hundreds of people hitting the slopes to go sledding during the weekend.
