In 2016, The Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE) Group with 1.2 billion euros in revenues, which is 2.6% less than a year earlier, improved the debt structure. The debt to banks at the end of 2016 was 12% lower than at the end of 2015. The net debt amounted to 816 million euros. Termoelektrarna Šoštanj, being part of the HSE Group, reduced losses from almost 460 to 47.2 million euros.
At the end of 2016, HSE received 44.4 million euros in net profit, Dravske elektrarne Maribor (Dem)—14.6 million euros (in 2015—8.7 million euros), and Soške elektrarne Nova Gorica (Seng)—9.2 million euros (a year earlier—6.2 million euros).
Last year, Premugovnik Velenje also worked with a profit of 770,000 euros (a year before, its losses amounted to 70 million euros).
The financial obligations of the HSE Group at the end of 2016 amounted to 899.6 million euros and decreased by 11% at the average annual level. The power plants of the HSE Group produced 7.8 TW of electricity last year, which is 15% more than in 2015.
Last year, the HSE staff at the group level was 3,110 employees (in 2015—3,390). In 2016, the HSE Company had 150 employees (in 2015—142 employees), Dem had 237 employees (in 2015, the number was 266 people), in Seng the number of employees reached 122 persons (the same as in 2015), Teš had 323 employees (in 2015, the company employed 385 people), and Premogovnik Velenje had 1,231 employees (in 2015—1,254 employees).
