Slovenia – Europe in Miniature

Robin McKelvie, a travel writer and the author of one of the earliest English language guidebooks to Slovenia, visits different countries around the world and later writes articles about the most interesting and stunning places. He first visited Slovenia in 1990s, and ever since has developed a strong passion towards this unique country. In August, TheCourier.co.uk has published Robin’s latest article about Slovenia. The traveller admits that Slovenia is one of those countries that he cannot help going back to. He calls Slovenia a bijou ‘Europe in Miniature’ and describes its most prominent treasures, such as Alpine peaks and lakes, a slice of Mediterranean coastline, world class cuisine, splendid wines, not to mention Ljubljana, which is one of the Europe’s most engaging capitals. This time, Robin has visited Ljubljana, Logarska Dolina, the Julian Alps, the surroundings of the Lake Bled, the remarkable Soča Valley, and the Adriatic coast’s most picturesque town – Piran.
