The Slovenian Government announces its aim to transform the country into the leading destination of Blockchain technology within the European Union. The Government is currently examining the potential technology applications in public administration. During the Digital Slovenia 2020 event in the middle of October 2017, the Prime Minister of Slovenia Miro Cerar claimed that the regulatory agencies and ministries of the country were already examining the new technology and its potential applications. On 3 October, the Government of Slovenia launched the Blockchain Think Tank, which was developed within the framework of the Slovenian Digital Coalition project. The think tank will operate as a point-of-contact between the developers of Blockchain, industry players, and the Government institutions. The technology will also enable coordination of the diverse educational materials creation on Blockchain with various companies and assistance in the drafting of new technology-related regulations. Therefore, Slovenia can soon become a Blockchain-friendly destination moving to a new stage of the world’s technology development.
