Slovenia raised a total of 164.2 million euro ($196.7 million) in an auction for allocating radio frequencies, including bands in the 5G spectrum.

The governmental agency AKOS auctioned off frequencies in the 700 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands for a period of 15 years to four mobile operators – A1 Slovenia, Telekom Slovenije, Telemach and T-2.
Telekom Slovenije and A1 Slovenia got frequencies in the 700 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz spectra, for 52.1 million euro and 42.4 million euro, respectively.
T-2 paid 18.2 million euro to receive frequencies in the 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands, whereas Telemach purchased frequencies in the 700 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands for 51.6 million euro.
Operators can use these frequencies for any type of mobile technology, with some of the frequencies – 700 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz, being intended for the implementation of 5G mobile technology and services.
