In 2017, Slovenia plans to implement the largest-ever environmental project for the drainage and treatment of wastewater on the territory of Ljubljana. Launching of the project is part of the EU regional policy.
Slovenia celebrated the beginning of the year 2017 by launching another major project within the framework of the cohesion policy. The Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy (SVRK) will soon send a program called “Drainage and Treatment of Wastewater in the Aquifer Area of Ljubljana Field” for approval by the European Commission.
In Slovenia, the environmental project is included into the “quota of eleven” major programs within the framework of cohesion policy, which were relevant in the past financial period. This “Ljubljana” project is the last of them. Overall, the program implementation will cost 135 million euros.
