Since 2004, the Sejalec Award has been presented for the best innovative achievements in Slovenian tourism. This year, the ‘Expo Postojna Cave Karst’ and ‘Fontana Zeleno zlato in Žalec’ projects received this award for the best creative and outstanding achievements in the tourism industry of Slovenia. Postojna Cave is the most visited tourist attraction in Slovenia. In 2015, the site management launched the EXPO Postojna Cave Karst project. It became the largest interactive exhibition demonstrating the world’s best karst landscapes, providing visitors with a closer look into the karst underground world and life in caves. The exhibition works in a unique and innovative way, applies analogue and digital tools ensured by the Slovenian knowledge, development, and cooperation with national professional institutions. The Green Gold Fountain is the first beer fountain in Europe. This project is considered to be a story of success that should inspire small and low-recognisable tourist destinations.
