Bia Separations is a leading developer of process purification systems in biologics. The company is mainly engaged with the gene therapy. In March 2020, Bia Separations expects 6 million euros to be invested to expand its production facilities located in Ajdovščina. Other significant investment projects should be also implemented in the USA and Canada.

The company funds the expansion of its production capacities completely by means of its surplus. The new facilities will be five times bigger and feature second-generation production lines, thus ensuring the possibility of producing larger volumes of goods. Bia Separations will provide additionally about 100 new jobs in the Slovenian labour market. The new facilities will be launched at the beginning of 2021.
Another investment project relating to the construction of production facilities will be initiated in North America, which is one of the most important markets for the company. The timeframes for the construction works under this project are 2022-2023. According to the company representatives, North America is an extremely important partner for Bia Separations since 80% of the company’s revenue are generated in its territory. The project has been already approved by the US Ambassador to Slovenia Lynda C. Blanchard.
Last year, Bia Separations doubled its revenue reaching the figure of 12 million euros. This year, the company management plans to receive 25 million euros in revenue.
