Slovenian Economy Grows by 2.4% in 2019

According to the first estimates of the Slovenia’s Statistics Office, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country rose by 2.4 last year. Besides, 1.7% of the total growth was achieved during the last quarter of 2019.

Exports increased by 4.4% in 2019. A year earlier, the growth rate was 6.1%. In 2019, an increase in domestic consumption reached 2.1% and in processing – 4.3%, which are the highest indicators since 2007.

Total employment amounted to 1,045,000 persons last year. This is the highest number of employed people in Slovenia since 1995. If compared to 2018, this figure grew by 2.4%.

In January, the state budget recorded 904.5 million euros in revenue and 893.6 million euros in expenditure. The surplus reached 11 million euros as compared to a deficit of 52.4 million euros in January last year.
