Statistics Service: Slovenia Reaches the Highest July Surplus of Commodity Exchange with EU Countries Over Last Twenty Years

According to the updated data of the Employment Service published on Friday, 27 September 2019, Slovenia exported goods worth 19.8 billion euros in the first seven months of 2019 reaching an increase of 9.4% as compared to the same period in 2018.

In July 2019, export grew by 11.6% and amounted to 2.21 billion euros, while import increased by 16.4% amounting to 2.16 billion euros. At the same time, according to the Statistics Service, Slovenia reached the highest July surplus of commodity exchange with the EU countries over the past 20 years making 49.7 million euros. The total July indicators of export and import were the highest over the past 10 years. The import by export coverage was 99.89% in July 2019.

In July 2019, Slovenia exported goods worth 811.4 million euros (32.2% more than in July 2018) to the EU countries, while the imported goods valued 864.4 million euros (62.3% more than in July 2018). In July 2019, EU countries accounted for 73.1% of all export and 71.4% of all import with Slovenia.

The total volume of export for 7 months of 2019 increased by 9.4% in annual terms and amounted to 19.819 billion euros, while the total volume of import grew by 12% amounting to 19.825 billion euros. The deficit amounted to 6.1 million euros and the import by export coverage made 99.97%.
