The GDP of Slovenia Grows by 40% Since Joining the EU

Since joining the EU 15 years ago, the Slovenia’s GDP has grown by 40%. This is evidenced by the data included in the booklet released last week by the European Commission – on the eve of the anniversary of Slovenia’s accession to the EU.

Since 2004, Slovenia has received 9.2 billion euros from the EU structural and investment funds. Since 2014, the EU has provided the structural financing equivalent to 29% of all public investments in the country.

As part of the investment plan to stimulate the economy of Slovenia provided by the Head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, the additional funding in the amount of 941 million euros was approved for almost 7,400 small and medium-sized businesses in Slovenia.
