The Employment Service opened almost 3,000 vacancies across the country, 277 of which in the Gorenjska region. The greatest demand is for workers in the manufacturing industry (production workers, mechanical engineers, metalworking engineers, welders) and the construction industry. According to the Head of the Employment Service in Kranj, Drago Perc, the labour market opened a large number of vacancies for medical personnel, social workers, cooks, waiters, truck drivers and bus drivers, logisticians and sales managers. According to him, the number of employed foreigners, first of all, technical specialists, is growing.

According to Drago Perc, an effective method to overcome unemployment involved educational courses and programmes that train specialists of one precisely defined profession.
