The Slovenia’s Minister of Economy Zdravko Počivalšek and the State-Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Jure Leben visited Beijing to take part in the International Forum devoted to the One Belt One Road development strategy proposed by China. The representatives of Slovenia consider this initiative one of the century’s biggest global projects which is of curtail importance for their country. The Forum in Beijing involved 1,200 participants from 110 countries and over 60 international organisations. During the meeting, Slovenia and China signed a number of significant contracts, such as a contract on the Duol engineering company exclusive representation in China, a preliminary contract on the construction of temporary infrastructure for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, and a memorandum of understanding in the sphere of tourism.
